It is not commonly used as an expression, the expression (similar to LOL or LMAO) would simply be ROFL. I am not sure actually, hence why I went to look it up, but cannot find anything on it which seems stupid. It is an internet phenomenon similar to All Your Base which I think was created by some britt. It is an ASCII art helicopter made up of dashes, slashes and the internet expression ROFL.
